1971

The Marley Building

Marley moves into new headquarters in Mission, Kansas.

The Parallel Path Wet Dry plume abatement tower is born, significantly reduces the visibility of the effluent plume from the tower.

1972

Largest dry cooling tower

Balcke constructs the largest dry cooling tower worldwide with a cable net shell.

The companies Maschinenbau Aktiengesellschaft Balcke and Dürrwerke AG, a Ratingen-based, well-known manufacturer of steam boilers and heat transfer equipment for power plants, merge on October 1. The new company starts up with a capital stock of DM 22 million and 2600 employees.

1973

The largest fan in the world

The largest fan in the world is built by Balcke with a diameter of 26 meters.

The Marley 8600 NC product line is expanded in April to include the first five modular tower models.

1975

multi-fan mechanical draft cooling tower

Marley completes construction of the first multi-fan mechanical draft cooling tower in round configuration.

1978

Model tests

Balcke founds the Research and Development Division in Ratingen, Germany with its own laboratory and testing facilities.

Effective August 1, a Reconstruction Department was formed within the Marley Sales Division.
